Feng Shui is the art of balancing and harmonizing your home to help you in your life to get what you want and deserve. In this article we look at some of the common problems that people have with dining tables and how they can overcome these problems.
The optimum shapes are octagonal, circular or oval for a dining table, as this means that everyone at the table can see and talk to each other. But not all tables are this shape, and this is often not the most practical form for your dining area to be honest. Does this mean you have to go right out and buy a brand new one if you have a dining table that isn’t that shape?
The good news is that you don’t, although I know of several people who used this as a convenient excuse to treat themselves to a brand new set of dining rooms. There are several ways to enhance or cure a dining table to ensure that it promotes positive energy, and as with all cures or enhancements, the one you choose will be the one that attracts you the most. Below are highlighted the most common problems with tables and how they can be overcome.
A table that is square or rectangular.
If you have a square or rectangular table, make sure that everyone at the table is able to see each other clearly to ensure that the room is well lit and that mirrors are placed on the walls. One of the unfortunate side effects of having a rectangular or square table is that the sharp corners create poison arrows that create negative energy. To minimize these disruptive effects, disguise them by placing over the table a long, thick, highly patterned and decorative cloth to touch the floor. Make sure the room areas pointing at the corners are well lit with lamps. Improve the room with natural plants and flowers as they also help counteract any negative energy.
A too small dining table.
If you and your friends and family are too small to sit comfortably at your dining table, this can make people feel cramped and cause conflict. It can also cause digestive problems in some cases as people rush to finish their meals in order to leave the table. In order to cure this problem, you will need to increase the table surface by placing a large circular piece of wood, chipboard or plastic on top of the table when used. This can be covered with a cloth to make the eating area decorative and comfortable and can be easily stored away when not in use.
A too large dining table.
It can be quite daunting and relatively uncomfortable if you are sitting at a large table if there are only a few of you eating. Just setting one area of the table and creating a decorative display on the other side is a simple cure. It is always best to represent the bagua area in which the dining room or dining area is located when creating a decorative display. For instance, if the dining room is in the house’s relationship area, then an attractive display of pink and cream roses in a crystal vase, pretty pink stones and crystals scattered across the table and pair candles on either side of the flowers can make an amazing visual display.
A table with glass.
A glass table causes energy to move across the surface very quickly. Consider covering the table with a cloth to slow down the energy. Place a large table decoration in the middle of the table top if you bought a glass table because you like the design and don’t want to hide it. The best decoration is one that uses wood or water or both, as it helps to create a calming effect.
